Equateur - Haunte
Despite its name that evokes South America, the band Equateur comes from Paris. Here is a foretaste of their first EP “Aquila” due to be released in the end of February. Those Parisians are about to delight us thanks to their bewitching electro new rave.
Slove - Flash
Slove is a band that mixes its tastes for yesterdayʼs indie pop music flamboyance and the urgency of todayʼs electronic music.
Its
two founding members: Léo Hellden & Julien Barthe are involved in
several of the most exciting projects shaking up todayʼs French scene
(Aswefall, Tristesse Contemporaine for Léo, Plaisir de France and
Sweetlight / Abusator for Julien).
Slove is cooking up a much-awaited
release uniting ice and fire inspired by indie dance idols of them
(Pale Saints, Slowdive, Stones Roses, etc...) Slove is bringing back into fashion the class of a hedonistic pop here loaded with modern and sophisticated arrangements.
General Elektriks - Raid the Radio
General Elektriks is the brainchild of Hervé ‘RV’ Salters. A French
national and a keen vintage keyboard player, Salters was playing keys
for his bands and for various artists in Paris (Femi Kuti, M, Vercoquin,
DJ Mehdi etc…) before he moved to San Francisco in 1999... There, he
hooked up with the Quannum crew (Blackalicious, Lyrics Born, etc.) and
collaborated with some of them on the 1st GE album, ‘Cliquety Kliqk.’
Hailed by URB as ‘Ennio Morricone for the 21st century,’ the album is a
far out collage of vintage funk, hip hop beats, noir riffs and pop
melodies.

Souleance - La belle vie
Beatmaker Fulgeance (Musique Large) and DJ Soulist (What The Funk) have now partnered quite some time ago under the Souleance guise. We introduced them in 2009 with a cool Souleance - Le Mix and they're now back with their first full length album, La Belle Vie, out April 9th on First Word Records. Three things characterize Souleance's
music: the duo's love of hip hop, their ears always on the
'densefloor', and hum… yes!… gritty analog synths - we know you love
those! This is their first album and it's really more than a solid
effort, with its patchwork of synths, hip hop beats, 80s claps, some
broken, bossa or soul, with guests Rashaan Ahmad, Homecut and Shawn Lee. Groovy hits abound in there, our favorites being Le Plaisir and its scratchy JB sample, the hip hop anthem Pride and the soul reconstruction of One Step.
Canistrelli - La fine équipe
