if you are looking for a new messaging app in 2014, one solution that users are finding out about this month is the Telegram app for Android and iPhone. It has just launched, but we are getting early feedback that this could be the answer for those that want to move away from Whatsapp.
The app messaging space is very competitive of course, with most
users choosing Whatsapp as their primary source of messaging friends and
family. Whatsapp is a very functional app with great features, but you
may be surprised to hear that Telegram could offer something better for
you.
If you are a user that finds Whatsapp slow and sluggish during use,
Telegram could provide the speed boost that you are looking for. We’ve
tried out the app already ourselves and can confirm that navigating
around the interface and various chat settings is blazing fast.
Telegram also offers a feature that users may find extremely useful – secret chat mode.
Using this setting, users can send messages to another Telegram user
with added encryption measures. The creators have said that this message
can only be read by its intended recipient
Additionally, all data sent in secret chat mode is not logged on
their servers ensuring that all messages are completely private between
the two users. What Whatsapp has at the moment though is an established community.
Obviously those using Telegram for the first time will probably notice
that their contact lists are bare with no friends using the app. As it grows in popularity though, the secret chat mode as well as the
ultra fast browsing experience may tempt users to switch over.
